Merit Badge University at the NTOPC

At the North Texas Outdoor Pursuit Center Scouts can pursue a variety of merit badges from climbing and rappelling to backpacking stove, cooking, water filtration, tent set up, camp fire and a whole host of others. Call the facility for more information.

Scout and Youth Climbing Lock-In at the NTOPC

Climbing lock-ins gives scouts an opportunity to work on a number of skills during their time at the NTOPC. Scout lock-ins can be used as training in rock climbing, merit badge sign offs and all around fun. Lock-ins are available as half night and full night.

Cost:

Half Night $200.00 for first 10 climbers + 2 adults

$12 each additional climber

Full Night $300.00 for first 10 climbers + 2 adults $12 each additional climber

Youth Wilderness Discovery Program

The North Texas Outdoor Pursuit Center & Elm Fork Nature Preserve, Carrollton TX

Our Master Naturalist Dusty Pilgrim leads elementary aged students as they learn about the flora and fauna of Elm Fork Nature Preserve. Learning is done through all senses and is hands on. Hands get dirty and feet get wet through such activities as nature arts and crafts, night hikes, family camp outs and spring break camps.

One Day Climbing Trip

Mineral Wells State Park, TX

Come join the instructors from the North Texas Outdoor Pursuit Center at the famous Penitentiary Hollow for a full day of outdoor rock climbing you are sure to remember. This is a great way to get introduced to the sport while learning new techniques and having fun.

Cost: $75.00 per person

Ages: 10 & Up

Includes: Transportation, Gear, Entrance & Climbing Fees

Silo Sherpas Kids Club

At the NTOPC Kids Club, your child will be introduced to climbing, knots, belay technique, climbing equipment, climbing commands and safety. During our time we will also be engaged in different social activities that will promote self-confidence and working with others in a group setting.

Each club member will receive a club membership card, t shirt and invitations to field trips such as nature hikes and state park trips (additional fees may apply) as well as free climbing any day of the week.
