Intermediate Rock Climbing Course (2 days)

Climbers will get an introduction to traditional anchor systems and placement.  Students in this course will learn the art and science of placing a variety of protection from spring loaded camming devices to hexes, nuts and tri-cams and to know what it means to make a solid placement.  Learning to build anchors efficiently and to make solid placements is critical to minimizing risk while maximizing climbing.

Day 1 will begin with the concepts of protection and what makes a good placement.  Students will be critiqued through out the day.

Day 2 will focus on anchor systems, equalizing with slings and cordellettes, how to create a redundant system and efficiency.

The remainder of the day will be spent on the rocks doing simulated lead climbs while on top rope.  Climbers will be expected to place protection and build anchors in a lead scenario on climbs up to 5.8 (depending on students abilities).  All students climbs will be at the discretion of the instructor with your safety being our number one priority.
